Who Lives There?

All of us are living in a real world, where everything and everyone are following some rules and laws, physical, mathematical, logical and social. But what if this real world that we are so much used to is just an illusion? What if there are some other parallel worlds, which are crossing our world and bringing mysteries, secrets and unsteadiness and also and mainly their inhabitants? Well, it will be good thing at least to know them and to recognize them by their look.

Domovoy (bogy, bogie, puck, hub) is a hearth and home representative. He looks like a little old fellow, with the face similar to the head of the family, he is all covered with warm, shaggy fur. It's in his character to be a busybody and to grumble, but he always stays attentive and kind and always taking care of the family. There is only one Domovoy in the house. And he is taking care only of the particular family and house, because he is holy and worshiply bonded to them. Throughout the years, people were always keeping close good relations with Domovoy, taking care of him as he was a special guest and that's why he was helping them to keep the house in the order and warn them if something bad was about to happen. If the family was moving to another house, they were always inviting Domovoy to move together with them by using special kind of spell.

Kikimora ( Scank, female hobogoblin). There were two types of kikimoras – house kikimora and swamp kikimora. According to the slavic mythology, swamp kikimora is an evil spirit of the swamp. She is closest friend of the leshy (satur, hobgoblin). She lives in a swamp and likes to dress up a lot, especially to wear moss and to braid her hair with the plants from the forest and the swamp. She doesn't show off to people too often as she prefers to stay invisible and only screams loudly from the swamp. Little woman steals little children and takes travellers who lost their way and strangers into the quag, where she can harry them to death.

House Kikimora is an evil spirit, she looks like a little woman. Originally, in slavic mythology, kikimora used to be a night goddess of the dreams. Later on, unbaptized or cursed by their mothers little girls were called kikimoras, they were taken away by the devil and also wizards were bringing them to somebody's house. Kikimora is playing hob with the yarn and steals little children.

Igosha. Kikimora's relative. It is a deadborn child, a slink, he has no hands and legs. They are invisibly living where they were burried. They can also settle down in somebody's home and disturb families with playing their pranks.

Lyarva is an evil spirit, a monster, it is a ghost that wasn't burried properly. They are usualy wandering around during the night and making people mad and obsessed. Once they move into a woman's body they become floozies and whores who are not responsible for their deeds.

Wood spirits. Originally were described as shaggy creatures with goatish legs, beard and horns that looked like satyrs and fauns from the ancient world. If they have clothes on them, usualy it is a mutton overcoat, which is not girdled and flutter as it was a cloud gown of a wild hunter. Later on they've got thier own names.

Well, you better keep an eye on the dark corners of your house, prick up your ears and behave, cause they may be still watching you...
