Public Message: Dear Investors – Be More Serious!

According to the stage of our development we are on the stage of the early promotion. So, we are working and on promotional strategies, setting about doing marketing plans, schemes of customer relations and all the required technological background for such relations eagerly.

Now the situation about the KommandCore project is like this: so far as it has been invested by our own means, it has been developing. Therefore, in general we don’t need anything on the third hand, because we’ll make progress anyway. But now the time has come to out the matter not like «how to develop», but «how quickly develop». Regarding the stage, when we have the ready-in-general product, our development, including mobile version of the web-service, new tools, facilities, functions and design solutions, will be much faster, if there are more investments brought. It’s so because, you know – while intensifying – the advantages and strong points grow up like mushrooms. The first direct result is that faster development would mean more profitable development. For all the parties. For customers, for investors and for KommandCore as well.

We added this idea to our armory and started negotiating with American and European funds…

And here the most interesting things appear. After sending e-mails to several venture capital funds, I waited for two-three weeks: I saw that one the website of any investor the phrase like – «Send us your business plan, and we’ll give a response» or just «Write us» or «Send us your executive summary». One month passed, I couldn’t contain myself any longer and re-submitted my e-mail messages, asking for reply. The second month vanished into thin air, and I decided that m.a.y.b.e. my messages were sent to the incorrect address. Then, I started calling by phone… I don’t think it will be very interesting for you to read every mediatory breath on the way of getting a real (be it even short) conversation with an investor, that’s why let me give some interesting results here, after a half-year experience of such crazy activity, which is now called with a very modern phrase – IR (investor relations).

We got only two or three answers from 40 different companies in which we were interested to contact with. When I say «asnwer», I don’t mean «Yes! We are ready to cooperate with you right now». I mean ANY answer – be it «we are busy», «no», or «let’s talk about it in the next month» etc.

We contacted with a very promising and very popular venture funds; we tried to change the geographical criteria and called to the USA, Europe etc. – But the general panorama remained the same: no direct touch with responsible people in the companies who write on their websites that «they are looking for new and promising projects».

So, regardless of what is written on the website of this or that venture capital fund, bad investors are the investors:

1. who write on the website that they have veeery great experience and successfully worked with these or those companies (their logos are shown as well).

2. whose consultants cannot answer the general and most important preliminary questions like «do you invest in the sphere of…. ?», «In your company, who is better to contact on this question?», «What materials are need and where they have to be sent?» etc.

3. who are not available by phone or by e-mail and the full day they are on meetings, business trips, abroad, lunching etc.

4. who write on the web-site «Write us» or «Send us your business plan» and never reply to your messages.

On the other hand, good (professional and effective) investors are distinguished in the following:

1. Great experience is demonstrated during the professional and full-fledged conversation with prospective profitable clients (especially when they try to reach the responsible people, but couldn’t).

2. No consultants. Work with clients all by yourself! (or it’s too difficult to send in reply «I'm busy now. Call me at…/in the next month» or «Your project is not interesting for us. Keep on looking for other investors») Let it be even rough – the murderous thing is nothing written.

Finally, our pride is that we are thinking on the easy-to-use interface, human and live relations with customers and consulting with them (to know their wishes and desires about the best and most comfortable features in the web tool for easy and effective management). But how to work and explain these rare things, which worth their weight in gold, to prospective partners who break these simple rules of interaction in the early beginning of our negotiation?

So, the last – dear investors! The most important thing for promising projects who are eager to work with you or those who really need you and can bring to you much benefit in result (especially) – is no money, nor website, but your experience, human attitude and real, sensible view on things.
